Regional Workshop held in Rapti Eye Hospital.

On 24th February 2018, Regional Workshop of the state five, six and seven lying in Midwestern and Farwestern Development region of Nepal were held in the city of Tulsipur, Dang. Every year the workshop is planned in different eye hospitals in this region. In the previous year, it was held at Geta eye hospital, Dhangadhi. This time the organizer of the event was Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh’s Branch of Dang district with Rapti Eye Hospital, Dang. 


Presence of Various Guests and V.I.P personalities from Central Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Kathmandu With Ophthalmologists and administrative officers from different eye hospitals of state no. 5, 6 and 7 was seen at the Rapti eye hospital. Presence of Fateh bal eye hospital(Nepalgunj), Geta eye hospital (Dhangadhi), Primary Eye Care Centre Pyuthan, With Different eye hospitals and Primary eye care centres run by Rapti eye health programme, was seen on the event. 


Guests like Chairman of Netra Jyoti Sangh Dr Tirtha Prasad Misra, Chief Executive Officer Mr Sailesh Mishra, with other officers from central Netra Jyoti Sangh, were present at the regional workshop. Presence of IAPB’s Director of Southeast Asia was also seen. Dr Tirtha Prasad Misra was also nominated in 2016 as a member of IAPB.

Mr Yuddha Dhoj Sapkota, being Director of south-east Asia region for IAPB, he presented the roles of IAPB and World Health Organization in the prevention and Cure of Avoidable Blindness. He also simplified the objectives of Global Action Plan(GAP) and the importance of VISION 2020 to the branch chairmen of Netra Jyoti Sangh from different Eye Centres, whose presence were seen in the regional workshop at Rapti Eye Hospital. NNJS CEO Mr Sailesh Mishra presented about the needs to focus on quality now.
