Ichhakamana Eye Care Center
First-ever eye care center has been established at Ichhakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan district, on Friday (25 Dec 2020). The centre came into operation at Kurintar in ward no 4 of the rural municipality at a joint initiative of the Ichhakamana rural municipality with Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) and Bharatpur eye hospital.
Geeta Kumari Gurung Chairperson of the rural municipality inaugurated the eye care centre. “Compulsion faced by the locals to go to Bharatpur for eye-related ailments has ended. Gradually all the services available at Bharatpur eye hospital will be available at the centre,” she added.
Chair of ward-4 Hom Bahadur Rana said the centre will also benefit locals from the neighbouring districts. Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh’s central member Chitra Kumar Maskey said that the Sangh plans to set up such eye treatment centres in 350 locations of the country.
