Aveo Contact Lens officially launched in Nepal

A new product Aveo Contact Lens is now available in the Nepalese market from today. An official launch ceremony was conducted in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu with total participants of about 60 which include optometrists, eye care professionals, contact lens practitioners and other stakeholders of the ophthalmic business industry.

Asik Pradhan, holding more than a decade-long practice in contact lens at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) was the chief guest whereas Dr Shyam  Vyas, Ophthalmologist, Fellow in IOL & Cataract from TIO and other renowned faces in contact lens practice as Dr. Purushottam Dhungana from TIO, Dr. Ram Chandra Lamichhane from Lions Eye Hospital, Raju Kaiti from Nepal Eye Hospital, Sanjeeb Mishra, program coordinator and lecturer at BP Koirala Center for Ophthalmic Studies and Niraj Dev Joshi, the president of Nepalese Association of Optometrists (NAO) and were the main guests in the inaugural ceremony of the AVEO Contact lens.

The AVEO Contact lens is designed through research and development with UK Technology and manufactured by SuperVision Max Optimax Sdn which is Malaysia’s first home-grown contact lens maker and serves as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Notably, the company manufactures approx. 70 million lenses annually. These lenses can be worn on a daily basis, bi-weekly basis or monthly basis. Currently, these lenses are marketed over 25 nations over the globe.

The contact lenses are highly comfortable as it nears high-quality semi-finished lenses as well as hydrated fully packaged sterilized ones. The president for NAO added that “considering lifestyle, comfort, convenience, budget and aesthetics AVEO contact lenses comes to his first choice for his contact lens clients.” Furthermore, since the contact lens sits directly on the eye, particularly the peripheral vision is unobstructed; participation in sports and outdoor activities is more encouraging with the use of contact lenses. 

Dr Purushottam Dhungana, a contact lens specialist with more than 10 years of experience from Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology said: “we must switch the conventional (yearly) contact lens users to a short duration replacement lens as the eye health condition is directly affected, sooner or later, by the yearly lenses.

The marketing manager for AVEO contact lens Nabin Raj Acharya said the product will now be available at every city of Nepal.
