RAMPUR, PALPA, NEPAL


As many as 141 people benefitted from a free eye check-up camp set up at Sahalkot, a remote village in Nisdi Rural Municipality-1 of Palpa district on Saturday.

The one-day eye camp was organised by Janbikas Parichalan Kendra, a local Non-Governmental Organization was supported by Rampur Savings and Credit Cooperatives and technically assisted by  Kaligandaki Eye Care Centre (KECC).

Out of the 141 people who underwent free eye examination at the camp, 14 people were found to be suffering from cataract, according to Sundar Rana, Ophthalmic Assistant at the Kaligandaki Eye Care Centre.

The eye patients were also provided with free medicines and glasses on the occasion.
Locals were very happy for getting the free eye check-up and medicines at their locality, said Prem Bakabal, one of the beneficiaries.

About Kaligandaki Eye Care Centre:

Kaligandaki Eye Care centre was established in 2002 AD with the support of Lumbini Eye Institute, Seva Foundation, Palpa Lions Lacoul Eye Hospital, JPYC club as a satellite eye clinic. Later on, it was upgraded to Primary Eyecare Centre. The Kaligandaki Eye Care Centre have own building.
